Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout

The trout fishing season in England is from the 22nd of March to 30th of September (with some local variations going on to the end of the first week of October)

Salmon fishing in England is on the up and up with a Lazarus like recovery on the Tyne spearheading the energetic endeavours of many individual and organisations determined to see rivers like the Wye, Test and Itchen return to their heydays. With the demise of the Irish drift nets the prospects look good.

Coarse Fishing

There is a closed season for coarse fish between the 15th of March and 15th of June however there are many lakes, fisheries and canals holding stocked fish available that have no closed season so you can fish all year round.

Sea Fishing

There is no closed season for sea fishing however you should check locally when fishing for certain species, e.g. bass and mullet as many areas impose restrictions on fishing dates, no fishing areas where the waters are considered nursery grounds and size limits.

If you find any of the above to be inaccurate please contact me with correction, it would be much appreciated.
