Forget your rainbow trout tactics this is loch style fishing in a drifting boat over an 11,000 acre reservoir which was stocked in 1899 with 45,000 loch leven trout. There are 10 boats for hire from the hotel so you won't be crowded out any where.
Fish average about a pound but they do stocked from time to time popping in some fish to 9lbs so there are probably some monsters lurking in that water.
When I say loch style that means drifting close to the shore working a 3 fly cast. Cast right into the shallows, look for features, a fallen tree, a rock or an inflow stream, look for shoals and bays.
Pay attention to the wind which can concentrate flies and nymphs in wind drifts or on down wind shores and in bays (and on such a big water storms can be a scary matter when the wind gets up, if you can't get back to the pier get to a sheltered shore for safety, in a bit of shelter you can keep fishing.)
